Scottsdale is a stylish oasis in the Sonoran Desert, where visitors flock for world-class spa treatments, excellent golfing, outstanding art galleries and more.
Scottsdale was founded next to Phoenix as suburban ranchland, but it grew over the years to become a luxury resort destination. The city boasts sophisticated, modern attractions, but it also has plenty of historic buildings in its core. Oh, and did we mention the weather is gorgeous and sunny all year round?
A great trip to Scottsdale begins with staying in a fantastic location. When you’re in the right neighborhood, enjoying the city is a breeze because everything you want to see and do will be on your doorstep.
And when you want to take a break from your adventures? Choose a travel apartment by Stay Alfred, and you’ll have a comfortable suite and a gorgeous poolside lounger where you can doze in the shade. Plus, you’ll have all the comforts of home within your apartment, such as a fully equipped kitchen, a personal washer and dryer and much more.
Stay Alfred offers properties in two Scottsdale neighborhoods. Let’s take a closer look at the unique benefits of each, so that we can help you find the perfect stay for your Arizona getaway.
Say Hello to Stylish Old Town
One of the best neighborhoods in Scottsdale is Old Town, the historic center of the city. It will make you feel like you have stepped into the Old West, with beautifully restored buildings, green lawns and sparkling fountains.
As you stroll through the streets, you’ll find enough museums, art galleries, boutiques and cafes to keep you busy for hours. Don’t miss the Scottsdale Historical Museum, which tells the story of how the city was founded by the early settlers.
Old Town is also known for being the art and culture epicentre of the city – the creative and artistic heart of Scottsdale. There are several fine art galleries in this neighborhood, such as T. H. Brennen Fine Art and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. There’s also plenty of stunning public art you can admire while you are simply wandering the streets. (Have your camera ready!)
Stay Alfred at the Palladium
Want to base yourself in the heart of Scottsdale’s Old Town, close to the Civic Center and surrounded by excellent performance venues, eateries, museums, art galleries and more? It will all be on your doorstep when you stay at Stay Alfred at The Palladium.
The surrounding area has a Walk Score of 89, so bring your comfy shoes and hit the pavement. Exploring this neighborhood on foot will allow you to discover all the unique eateries, shops and businesses that make it special. Plus, you’ll be within a mile of the Center for Performing Arts and the Scottsdale Stadium.
If you’ve worked up an appetite from all that walking, head to Barrio Queen. This hip local Mexican restaurant is inspired by traditional food truck eats. In addition to mouthwatering tacos, it also boasts delicious cocktails and stylish Day of the Dead decor. Or, you can check out Citizen Public House. It’s a chic gastropub with delicious New American recipes, craft beers and artisanal cocktails.
When you want to take a break from the action, you can relax in the luxurious resort-style outdoor pool or chill out in the courtyard. Your unit will make you feel right at home, with a flat screen TV, a spacious kitchen and a laid back living room.
North Scottsdale
Another great place to stay, North Scottsdale is home to Scottsdale Quarter, a large shopping and entertainment complex packed with theaters, restaurants, beauty centers, shopping and so much more. There’s even a sunny courtyard and park and a splash pad for kids.
In this area, you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips, whether you’re in the mood to update your wardrobe, catch the latest blockbuster or dine on a wide range of international cuisine. It’s one of the most vibrant, modern areas of the city – so why not go out and explore?
Stay Alfred at Broadstone Scottsdale Quarter
When you make Stay Alfred at Broadstone Scottsdale Quarter your home, you’ll be surrounded by one of the most stylish neighborhoods in Scottsdale. When it comes to dining, shopping and nightlife – it will all be within a few blocks.
Head to Desert Rock Winery for the best pairings of wine and live rock and country music. Or, take your date to a special evening at Mastro's Ocean Club - featuring steaks, seafood and sushi in a sophisticated setting. You’ll also want to check out BLK Live, the hottest local spot for New American dining and live music (with a super-chic outdoor lounge and pool!)
Of course, if you want a great place to chill out in style you don’t have to go further than your own building. This modern apartment complex has world-class amenities, such as a resident lounge, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a resort-style pool and sundeck.
Stay Alfred at The District
Stay just steps away from the thriving Scottsdale Quarter at Stay Alfred at The District, where you’ll have easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment. From the rooftop terrace of this stylish apartment building, you’ll have views of the nearby McDowell Mountains.
You’ll be within walking distance from several superb attractions, including the Scottsdale Sports Complex, the Kierland Commons Shopping Centre and Westin Kierland Golf Club. If you truly want to simply relax in the sunshine, you can head to The Quad - a peaceful public green space with palm trees, grassy areas and fountains. Treat yourself to dinner at Kasai Asian Grill, where you’ll find posh Japanese dining with a sushi bar and teppanyaki tables.
Although the location is enviable, it’s the amenities at The District that really make it a luxurious stay. You can experience driving a ball down Pebble Beach Fairway in the golf simulator, or relax with some popcorn and a great movie in the media room. Or, you can get energized with a workout at the cutting edge fitness center. This building has everything you could want for a great time in Scottsdale.
The Best of Scottsdale Attractions
If you can pry yourself away from your gorgeous Scottsdale accommodations and take some time to see the sights, there are plenty of attractions to enjoy. Known as “The West’s Most Western Town,” Scottsdale has a posh, swanky vibe yet plenty of cowboy character. It also has several gorgeous green spaces and a fantastic art scene.
A great way to explore the city is to hop on the Scottsdale Trolley and take the two-hour free guided tour. Your guide will point out the main attractions, including the Craftsman Court, the Civic Center, Old Town Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Arts District. You can also learn about the history of the region with a visit to Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. This excellent museum tells the story of Scottsdale’s history through sculptures, films, paintings, lectures and community events.
Get outside and explore the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt, an 11 mile stretch of biking and walking paths. This tranquil green corridor connects four parks: Indian School, Eldorado, Vista Del Camino and Chaparral, and is a popular route for joggers, cyclists and dog walkers.
This city is a golfer’s paradise, with over 50 golf courses in the vicinity. If the blazing Arizona sunshine makes it too hot to play outside, there’s also an indoor target golf facility at Topgolf Scottsdale where you can play in 100+ climate-controlled hitting bays.
If you’re there on a Thursday night (except for Thanksgiving) you can take a stroll down the Scottsdale Art Walk. The art galleries of downtown will be open with special free showings and artist’s receptions for a very exciting, cultural evening.
See you soon!
With so much to see and do in Scottsdale, the hardest part of your vacation will be trying to squeeze it all in! But make sure you aren’t too busy during your trip! Part of the pleasure of a Scottsdale getaway is simply slowing down and unwinding with a cold drink and a good book by the pool.
